An Overview of The Absentee Flow through your EdSmart Platform

Overview

The absentee flow through the EdSmart platform follows these key steps:

  1. School staff record a student’s absence in Edupoint.

  1. Every 30 minutes, unexplained absences from sync Edupoint to EdSmart. This continues throughout the day between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm AEST.

  1. EdSmart then sends notifications to parents/guardians advising their student has been marked as absent and requesting a response advising the reason for the absence and an estimated return to school date.

  1. Parents/ Guardians can quickly respond by submitting a form or contacting the school via telephone to explain the absence.

  1. School staff can then access all responses in EdSmart and update or edit as required.

Returned Absentee Slips can be viewed in the EdSmart platform within a student’s record.
