How the Parent/Guardian responds via the EdSmart Absentee Link

Overview

When a Parent/ Guardian clicks on the Form URL Link in their Email or SMS notification, the EdSmart Absentee Form opens for them to complete and submit.

 

 Instructions

Parents/ Guardians have two options when providing an absentee response: Explained - Sickness/incapacity or Other, with a text field to add details.

  1. Whilst the configuration and management are via DECYP, you can see the absentee forms sent each day in the Parent Slips section of EdSmart by clicking the option on the left menu.

  1. When the Parent/ Guardians selects ‘Explained - Sickness/incapacity’, they must also add the intended return date and acknowledge that the school may contact them regarding the absentee response. See Below.

  1. When the Parent/ Guardians selects ‘Other’, they are also required to add the reason, the intended return date, and an acknowledgement that the school may contact them regarding the absentee response. See Below.
