Reminders for Slip Responses

A new version of Reminders has been deployed in EdSmart to handle the large volume of Slip responses that are being processed everyday. This new functionality is faster, more reliable and accurate.

There are three types of Reminders that can be scheduled for a Parent/Student Slip

  • Due Date Reminder

  • Manual Reminder

  • Recurrent Reminder

Send Reminder on this date field should be set to Yes during the creation of a Slip to enable any of these Reminders.

Due Date Reminder

A Reminder will be sent on the date specified in the Slip Due Date field while creation of a Slip, this is only for the Contacts of Students for whom a response is still not received . The status of this can be checked in the Reminders tab once the Slip has been sent.

Manual Reminder

A Manual Reminder can be set any time after a Slip has been sent, it will go out the next day after it has been triggered. This type of reminder is usually sent after a Due date reminder mainly to get last few remaining responses.

It can be triggered by clicking on the Actions Dropdown from the Reminders tab and status of it can be checked in the same page.

Please note a Manual Reminder cannot be triggered if the Send Reminder on this date is not set to Yes during the creation of a Slip

Recurrent Reminder

A Recurrent Reminder is used in Slips where getting a Response is very important, they can be configured to go out multiple times in a day or repeat on a day basis until a response is received. Recurrent Reminders start going out from the Slip Due date set during the creation of a Slip. Status of this can also be seen in the Reminders tab.

They are set during the initial Slip creation page as shown below

The number of times a Recurrent Reminder is sent can also be configured, for eg if Repeat Reminders is set to Every 1 Day for 5 times, a reminder will got out once every day for the next 5 days.
