For Parent Initiated Forms, Template Packets provide a way of creating a large and complex School Form by breaking it down into parts, each of which is a Template in its own right, which is then associated with a parent Template.
When the Form is seen on screen, it is displayed as a series of tabs, where each tab represents a Form Template in the Packet.
Note: If you do not see the various options noted below, please contact support@edsmart.com and ask for the Form Template Packet feature to be enabled for your school account, this is a feature for Engage & Transform subscription schools.
Create a Form Template Packet (Assigning the Primary Form)
A Packet consists of a Parent (Primary Form) and any number of Children (Secondary Forms).
To create the Parent template:
- Create a form template using the Parent Initiated Form for Student.
- Complete the required fields, then save the template.
- Once saved, click EDIT.
- Now you will see the Form Packet?
- Field - select 'Yes' for the Form Packet option.
Assigning Child Forms to Packet ( Secondary Forms)
- Edit the Form Templates you wish to be Children of this Packet (Secondary Forms)
- Allocate them to the Parent. Note, that a Template can be the Child Form (Secondary Form) of more than one Parent Form (Primary Form).
To assign the order of the Child (Secondary) Forms:
- Navigate back to the Parent (Primary) Forms:
- In the Section In this Packet enter numbers in ascending order based on the order the Forms should be displayed.
When a Form is created from the Parent Template, it will be shown with a tabbed view. The first tab is the Parent Template (Primary Form), and the others are the Children (Secondary Forms). These will be displayed in the order as per the display order assigned in the Template's setting.
