Deleting Attributes

Administrators can now delete Student and Contact Attributes a school’s EdSmart account. They can be accessed from the Settings page.

 

Click on the Attribute type that needs to be deleted. A separate page will open with a list of all the Attributes used by the school. A Delete button is available at the end of each row. When this is clicked, a warning message is displayed that the Attribute will be deleted permanently and cannot be retrieved.

Schools should use this feature only when they are certain that the attribute is no longer required. Oftentimes, information collected from parents and stored in Attributes at the beginning of the year and used by Staff all year round.

 

There is an icon which indicates whether an Attribute was created manually or by a data sync. Note that manually created Attributes can be populated by a sync if the name in EdSmart matches the name of the Attribute in the source data.

All Attributes, whether created manually or by a data sync, can be deleted. However, if the Attribute is still present in the data with the next sync, it will reappear in EdSmart.

 

Note: Users cannot perform this operation, it is accessible for only Administrators of your school.
