Viewing Users in EdSmart

To view Users in EdSmart, you need to be an Administrator. Click Users on the left Sidebar

You can change the Sort Order by clicking the Sort By Name button or search for a particular User by entering their name in the search box and clicking the search button. You can search for users by whether they are Active or Inactive as well.


Creation of Users

Users can be created in EdSmart in a number of ways:

  • Via Data Sync
  • Via SSO
  • Manually in EdSmart
  • In bulk via CSV
Note that it is a requirement for Users to have email addresses as it's used for their login.

Creating Users via Data Sync

 If you have a data sync with sync set up from your school's Student Management System, create the user there, and they will have an account in EdSmart after the next sync. This method is useful to be able to assign workflow steps to Users even if they haven't signed in yet.

See Synching your school's data with EdSmart for more details. User and Group Permissions are managed within EdSmart regardless of having a data sync.

User Account Creation via SSO

It is possible for User accounts to be created at the time of sign in. You can choose whether you wish to allow all users in your domain to sign in, or limit to users synced with your uvEdSmart_Staff SQL view used in your data sync.
