Account Configuration
You need to be an Administrator to access account configuration.
If you are an EdSmart Administrator, then you can view and manage various configuration settings for your EdSmart account.
Click your username at top right, and select Settings from the menu. On the Settings page click the Configuration option.
View Settings
The top part of the page details various information about your account, including the Status (Trial or Paid) and subscription start and end dates, along with options such as SMS credits and Single Sign On.
Edit Settings
You can edit some settings:
1. Allow Broadcasts to be sent by Staff to users
Gives users the ability to send broadcast e-mail and/or SMS text messages to users without needing a response back.
2. Allow Contacts to Update Details
When Parents are submitting their online forms you can optionally display their contact details - name, email, phone, mobile - and let them update these back into their EdSmart record.
3. Clear Student Lists on import
If data is being automatically imported into your EdSmart account you can control how existing Students are treated.
By default when a new group of Students is imported to existing Student Lists we do not automatically deallocate any Students already allocated to those Lists, but who are no longer allocated in the new import file.
If you set this option to Yes, then all Students will be deallocated from the Student Lists named in the import file before the import starts.
4. Country
Select your country so ensure EdSmart can display information and operate correctly.
5. Timezone
It is really important your timezone is set correctly, otherwise scheduled activities such as sending of notifications for forms, will not occur at the correct date and time.
6. SMS Text Message From Name
If you are using SMS text notifications you can set the 'From' name that will show on the recipient's mobile phone. Please note this does only work in countries where alphanumeric identifiers are available. For example, they work in Australia but not New Zealand.
7. Email Message From Name
You can set the 'From' name for your emails to Parent Contacts and Students. Please note this only affects emails sent to parents and students for notifications of new slips, reminders etc. It does NOT affect the system notification emails, such as alerting a staff member to a workflow action etc.
