How to confirm you are using TLS version 1.2

Transport Layer Security (TLS) version 1.1 has been deprecated and you will need to use TLS version 1.2 for all communications with the EdSmart application, whether it’s browsing, uploading files, or EdSmart syncing data from your school. More information is available on our blog post.

To confirm you are using the necessary Transport Layer Security Version for data syncs, please use the IISCrypto tool available at https://www.nartac.com/Products/IISCrypto/ and apply their best practice settings to the machine where you have Azure Hybrid Connection Manager installed, or on the machine with your SQL database if we are connecting to the database directly. Set the machine’s TLS level to 1.2 only.

Please note you will need to test all applications communicating with this machine, as they may still be using TLS 1.1.
