EdSmart Mobile App Instructions for School Administrators

How to set up your EdSmart accounts connection and dataflow

1. Download the EdSmart Mobile App

Apple App store - https://apps.apple.com/au/app/edsmart/id1456057255
Google Play store - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rosytown.edsmart.schoolapp&hl=en_AU

2. Create your staff logins.

You will need to create a password specifically for the App and different passwords for your users. You can do this in the Users area.

Note: All schools, whether you are a Single Sign-On school or not, MUST create an App password for each user. Users will be able to use your SSO protocol as normal to enter the EdSmart platform.

3. Set up Slips to be viewed in the App.

The trigger for a Parent/Student Slip is the ‘Calendar' date entered when you create a Slip. We have currently set this to appear on the App 72 hrs before the calendar date, and it will be removed from the App 72 hrs after the Calendar date.

The same permissions for the EdSmart Platform also apply to the App.

4. To have Medical/Emergency and Contact details appear in the App, you need to have the Activity Care Module set up in EdSmart.

Read the following article regarding the Activity Care Module:

Read the following article regarding the Medical Alert:

Choose which Medical/Emergency and Contact fields you have in EdSmart that you wish to include in the Activity Care Module and, consequently, appear in the App.  Contact Support – and request a callback from our Customer Success Team to help assist you in setting up the Activity Care Module.

Once this is complete, users will be able to see all the Medical/Emergency and Contact details connected to a specific student on a Slip in the App.

5. Set the school’s Emergency Contacts and Phone Numbers.

Choose the User that you want to assign as the Emergency contact. Go to the specific User in the USER section and edit the User. Go to the option ‘User’ and select ‘Yes’ to ‘Listed Emergency Contact in Mobile App’.
