\uD83D\uDCD8 Overview

When a student is marked absent via the DECYP Student Management EduPoint System, the EdSmart Platform is notified, which triggers a notification to the Parent/Guardian for the student.

The Absentee notification will be sent to the Parent/Guardian to view as an Email and or SMS based on their nominated preference.

The Parent/Guardian has two options to respond to this notification:

  1. Clicking on the EdSmart Absentee Slip link within the body of the notification will take them directly to the EdSmart platform to enter a response for the absence. This is the most common way Parent Guardian will reply.

  2. Call the school telephone number in the SMS to report the reason for absence. This option is used when Parents/Guardians cannot access the internet.

EdSmart allows Parent Guardians the ability to choose their preferred communication method, and this is managed through Edupoint.
