Viewing Students in EdSmart
Click the Students option in the main menu on the left of the page to view all the Students. You can change the Sort Order by clicking the Sort By Name button, or search for a particular List by entering keywords in the search box and clicking the search button.Click Click the Action button to Add a New Student, or to Show All and remove the effects of a search.Click the Edit button view button at the end of each row to view the detail of a Student.
When you view the detail of a Student you will also see:
- Basic Details about a student
- Student Attributes if your school is using them
- Activity Care details if your school has enabled them
- The Student Lists they are assigned to
- Their Parent Contacts
- Any Slips, Broadcasts and Forms previously sent to the Student
You can add the Student to another Student List by clicking the blue Add Student to List button, or remove them from an existing List by clicking the relevant Delete button.
To add a new Parent Contact click the blue Add Contact for Student button, a small window will open. Start typing the name of the Contact and a list of matches will be displayed for you to select.- An Audit Log of changes to the Student Record
Managing Student data via Sync
If you have a sync set up from your school's Student Management System, you can create and edit Students from there, and the changes will reflect in EdSmart after the next sync. See Synching your school's data with EdSmart for more details.
Managing Students manually
If you are not able to sync Students from your school's data, you can create and edit student details manually. Note that If you sync your school's student data in the future it may be overwritten.
