📔 Overview

This article will guide you through creating a Student List based on Slip Responses.

Use Case examples:

  1. Creating a Student List for Convenience:
    You’ve individually sent a Slip to students and now wish to compile them into a single list to simplify future communications.

  2. Tracking Media Consent Responses:
    You’ve sent a Slip to a group of students to gather media consent. Families who have responded with consent can be organized into a separate student list to reflect this.

  3. Managing Event Interest Responses:
    You’ve sent a Slip to gauge interest in an event. Families who express interest can be grouped into a newly created list to streamline planning and communication as the event approaches.

If your Student Lists are created via Import from a Student Management System, your list may be made ‘inactive’ following your next data sync. You can reactivate this list by following the steps outlined in

  1. Go to ‘Parent/Student Slips’ in your left-hand navigation panel in EdSmart

  2. Select ‘View’ on the Slip you want to create the Student List from

  1. Select the ‘Responses’ Tab

  1. Select the blue ‘Create’ button > ‘New Student List’

  2. Once selected, a pop-up will appear with a drop-down option list to select the group of Students you would like to create the list for:

    1. All Students

    2. Have Responded

    3. Only Positive Responses

    4. Not Positive Responses

    5. Have not Responded

  3. Once you’ve chosen your preferred option from the drop-down list, click the blue ‘Create List' button

  1. You will be redirected to your newly created Student List, which automatically creates a ‘List Name’ and ‘Description’ based on the below:

    1. List Name: List From [Slip Name]

    2. Description: List created from [Slip Name] (Option selected in Step 6)

  2. You can now view your newly created Student List via ‘Student Lists’ in your left-hand navigation panel in EdSmart
