We can enable SSO for your school’s Google, Office 365  or StudentNet domain on request. There are two options: we can allow all users on your domain to sign in; or only users for whom you have configured a User in EdSmart. This second option gives you better control over which of the school staff can access EdSmart.

EdSmart continues its commitment to ensure the widest possible access methods for the platform are available for our schools. We are pleased to advise we have added SAML2 to our list of single sign on (SSO) solutions.

SSO enables school staff to sign into EdSmart using their existing school-issued username and password, just the same as they would to access other applications.

SAML2 availability means EdSmart integrates with any large identity management system that supports the SSO industry standard SAML2 (Security Assertion Markup Language) authentication. As part of the deployment we will create a custom domain for your staff to access EdSmart, for example myschool.edsmart.com.

Enabling SSO for your school is a straightforward process, depending on the selected SSO method we will require certain pieces of information from you to enable us to configure your EdSmart account.

  • SSO service type: (e.g. Google)
  • Your If using Google or Office365, provide your school’s domain:  (e.g. myschoolschoolname.edu.au)
  • Do Whether you wish to allow all users in your domain to sign in, or limit SSO to users synced with your uvEdSmart_Staff SQL view
